Application
and Payment
IELTS,
Cambridge Exam Courses and Learn and Work
At the same time as completing and sending the Enrolment Form to
us, please send us a deposit payment of £500 for part payment
of your tuition fees in advance. This is required so that we can
issue you with an immediate Unconditional Acceptance Letter and
a bank receipt for your deposit. In many cases, you will need these
documents to apply for your student visa.
Holiday Programmes, Business English and Customised Courses
These courses require a 20% deposit two months prior to the commencement
of the course. This amount is non-refundable within thirty days
of the commencement date.
Payment
of Tuition Fees
The
balance of fees due must be paid in full prior to the commencement
of the course. Tuition fees paid in advance will be protected from
any fee increases which may be applied during the period covered
by the advance payment. In addition to tuition fees, you should
expect to pay for external examination fees and textbooks.
Provision
of Tuition
In
the event that a course is undersubscribed, CHILC reserves the right
to provide a smaller number of hours' tuition with no written notice.
Alternatively, CHILC may offer one0to-one tuition on a pro-rata
rate.
Academic
Standards
Students
who do not perform satisfactorily in their coursework will not be
entered for external examinations. Students are accepted into CHILC
on the strict understanding that progression through the course
is conditional upon meeting the satisfactory legal immigration requirements
for attendance, and upon successful attainment of prescribed performance
targets. Assessments taken into consideration:
- Coursework
- Internal
CHILC examination results
- Attendance
- Effort
in class and in homework
- Public
examination potential
Students
who do not meet the attainment criteria may not be allowed to proceed
with their original course and may at the discretion of CHILC be
offered an alternative programme or invited to withdraw from CHILC.
Cancellation
or Withdrawal
In
the vent of cancellation or withdrawal prior to the commencement
of the course, a refund for the deposit paid will not be made, unless
student visa is rejected or refused, in which case written evidence
of this must provided. Should your student visa application be rejected
or refused for whatever reason, CHILC will refund £400 and
retain £10 to cover our administration, postage and bank charges.
If, however, you use CHILC documentation to obtain a student visa
and then decide not to come and study here your deposit is non-refundable
in full except in mitigating circumstances given in writing at least
4 weeks prior to the commencement of the course. CHILC will at its
sole discretion consider refunds for deposits only in extreme conditions
and upon receipt of written evidence.
Suspension
and Expulsion
All
students are subject to CHILC's disciplinary procedures. CHILC reserves
the right to suspend or expel a student whose conduct or attendance
is unsatisfactory. Suspension and expulsion are at the sole discretion
of the Principal whose decision is final. There will be no refund
of fees in these cases.
Accommodation
CHILC
undertakes to find students suitable and appropriate accommodation
prior to arrival. CHILC will also assist students in transferring
accommodation once only. Further assistance given by CHILC in transferring
accommodation will be charged at £100 per move. There CHILC
assists students by providing the name of organisations offering
accommodation or letting services. CHILC is not responsible for
any arrangements made between the student and the provider of accommodation.
Students are responsible for any damage caused by them to the property
itself or any item in property. CHILC reserves the right to recover
costs for any damages incurred.
NB! All accommodation fees must be paid either in advance or on
the day of arrival. No accommodation will be provided if the fees
are not paid for in this way. Students on courses longer than one
month in duration must have sufficient funds to cover at least one
month's accommodation fees.
Insurance
CHILC
recommends that all students should take out personal, medical and
dental insurance to cover any loss or damage to their property or
person. CHILC does not accept any responsibility for loss or damage
of students' personal property nor is it responsible for any medical
or dental costs incurred by the student during their stay at CHILC.
Publicity
Students
and their parents or guardians agree that the students' details
and achievements may be used for promotional purposes without being
given additional consent or notification.
Welfare
and Guardianship
Where
a student is under the age of 18 upon arrival to study on a full-time
course, a parent may request that CHILC appoint a local legal guardian.
The fee for this service is £250 for every 12 weeks, payable
upon arrival at CHILC.
No variation to these conditions is valid unless agreed in writing
by the Principal.
