CHILC Accommodation Rules and Regulations

Most accommodation provided by Castle Hill School is within approximately 20 minutes walking distance from the School. There is also a local bus service which covers most areas of the town for those students who live further than 20 minutes from the School.

Conditions Regarding the Provision Of Accommodation

• All students who require Castle Hill School to arrange accommodation before their arrival in Stamford must transfer a minimum of £330 into the School bank account before any accommodation arrangements can be made. Of this £330, a deposit of £30 will be returned to the student upon leaving the accommodation providing that all the rules and regulations stated in this document are complied with.
• Castle Hill School can only guarantee first choice accommodation where a student gives a minimum of two weeks' notice to the School, and providing that the transfer of £330 has been made and received at the School bank account. Further to this, all students must inform Castle Hill School of the expected date and time of arrival in Stamford (or at the port of entry into the UK) at least two weeks prior to arrival. Failure to give two weeks' notice may result in a student's first choice accommodation not being available, and alternative or temporary accommodation being offered.
• A fee of £20 will be charged to all students wishing to move accommodation to cover administration costs and the transportation of personal belongings. Any further moves in accommodation arranged by Castle Hill School will be charged at £100 per move where it is deemed that the accommodation being moved from is suitable and adequate. Any reductions in moving charges are made solely at the discretion of Castle Hill School. Transportation of larger items between accommodation (i.e. heavy furniture, beds, etc) is the responsibility of the student although the School will advise on modes of transport available.
• All students must give at least 1 week's notice before changing accommodation unless moving from rented accommodation. When moving from rented accommodation, students must give notice at least one month in advance. Where sufficient notice is not given as stated above, all rights to refunds of deposits are forfeited and deposits cannot be returned.
• Students leaving accommodation are required to pay until the end of a full week or, in the case of rented accommodation, until the end of the calendar month.
• All bills must be settled in full by all students before leaving accommodation. Castle Hill School reserves the right to retain all or part of any deposits made to cover bills not paid.
• Students living in hostel accommodation are required to provide their own bed linen and kitchen utensils.
