Student
Accommodation
CHILC
provides various types of accommodation for students on short and
long-term full-time courses. The following is an overview of the
types of accommodation on offer throughout the year subject to pre-booking
and availability.
Homestay
Full-Board
Full-board
accommodation with an English host family. All properties and host
families are thoroughly screened and inspected at regular intervals
to ensure a high degree of cleanliness, safety and security is maintained
in a caring, friendly environment. Full-board entitles the student
to a bedroom (shared or single subject to pre-booking and availability),
breakfast, packed lunch on schooldays and an evening meal to be
taken with the host family. Facilities are available for laundry,
shared bathroom and kitchen according to individual agreement with
host families.
Students can specify their preferences, likes and dislikes and CHILC's
accommodation department will find the most suitable family. All
houses will be within a 20-minute walk of the school and town centre.
| CHILC
Recommendation: Ideal for young teenagers and students away
from home for the first time. Particularly suited to those whose
English might be limited and who would benefit from some time
to settle down in Stamford and meet new friends without the
worry of shopping, cooking etc. |
Homestay Half-Board
As
above, but students are responsible for providing their own lunch.
Executive
Homestay
Executive
Homestay is generally for professionals and business-people on short-term
customized courses such as Business English and Young at Heart.
Clients have a single room and the use of a private bathroom in
top-of-the-range accommodation.
An
added bonus is that CHILC will find a host family with a similar
professional background to suit that of the client. In this way,
total immersion in an English-speaking environment is guaranteed
as the language learned on the intensive language programme is reinforced
throughout the time spent with the host family at home.
Rent-A-Room
Students
can take advantage of living in one of CHILC's own properties in
Stamford or enter into a private contractual agreement to rent a
room from an independent landlord. CHILC's accommodation department
provides a number of services which assist students in finding appropriate
rooms and will help in moving and transferring accommodation (please
see Terms and Conditions). Students are responsible for paying some
utility bills and for the general good upkeep of the room as agreed
and laid down by the landlord.

CHILC
Recommendation: Ideal for long-term students over the
age of 18 on Learn and Work programmes and / or academic courses.
This is a good option for those who have settled in Stamford
and perhaps have already spent some tine within the secure
setting of a Host Family. Also a good choice for independent,
mature students who prefer the self-catering option.

Rent-A-House
As
above, but students come together in groups of two, three and four
and share a house together. Students are responsible for paying
all utility bills and for the general good upkeep of the house as
agreed and laid down by the landlord.
